Liverpool latest: Including Assaidi and Carroll


Liverpool have announced the surprise signing of Moroccan winger Oussama Assaidi. The 24-year-old played for Heerenveen in Holland where he scored 20 goals in 68 appearances, and had this week been linked with Ajax and Fulham. No fee has yet been announced and the player will travel to Anfield tomorrow for a medical.

Liverpool have told Newcastle United they can take back striker Andy Carroll but for £17 million according to the Daily Mail. In a move which would see the club make a loss of £18 million, are Liverpool right to cut their losses or should they give their number 9 one last chance?

The Mirror are reporting how midfielder Charlie Adam could be set to make the short trip across Stanley Park and join Everton. The Scot is said to be unwanted by Rodgers and could leave for only £5 million. Other sources in Liverpool have suggested it is simply speculation because his agent is the brother of Everton boss David Moyes. It will be interesting to see what Liverpool fans make of this one, are the Toffees welcome to him?

The Mirror also state that a season-long loan deal for Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin was set to be announced today but there is no news on that front yet. Meanwhile it appears Barcelona forward, Cristian Tello has decided to stay at the Nou Camp.
