London Olympics closing ceremony 2012 images: Live Twitter reaction



The Olympic Stadium comes alive with the closing ceremonies lights up the finale of the London Games 2012. There was an estimated global audience of 750 million in the closing ceremony that also includes a handover to the next host city for the 2016 Summer Olympics, Rio de Janeiro. Among the London Olympic highlights, Michael Phelps became the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time, winning his 22nd medal. Great Britain achieved its highest tally of gold medals since 1908, finished third in the medal table. Great Britain got 29 Gold, 17 Silver, 19 Bronze with 65 total in medals.

Jamaican Usain Bolt became a legend as the first sprinter to retain all three sprinting gold medals (100 meters, 200-meters, 4x100 Relay) at consecutive 2008 and 2012 Olympics. More and more Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Brunei entered female athletes for the first time in Olympic Games.
The opening ceremony was watched by 40.7 million people NBC has since found that streaming live all of the Olympic sports events online has not cut into its prime-time audience, which has been unexpectedly bigger than the 2008 games in Beijing.

Paul McCartney wasn't around this time after the out of tune pitch he did in the opening ceremonies, lots of people expecting Adele to perform but she wasn't there also. Regardless the outcome of closing ceremonies live coverage, the images of London Olympics finale is spectacular and would ranked to the books better than it's predecessor Beijing Olympics.
